What is the central idea of your concentration?

How does a professional athlete navigate their own personal challenges when constantly being in the spotlight? Professional athletes often face immense pressure and scrutiny, both on and off the field; which can have a major effect on their mental health. To address the question of how professional athletes navigate personal challenges while in the spotlight, I explored the intersection of mental health and sports through a branding campaign. Firstly, I delved into research on the unique pressures athletes face and the impact on their mental health. Through impactful art and graphic design, my campaign visually conveyed the mental health struggles faced by athletes. Bold imagery and striking visuals helped highlight the reality of these challenges, making it easier for people to understand and empathize with athletes' experiences.

How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea?

I started investigation by researching mental health issues in sports and experimenting with different graphic techniques to depict the difficulties faced by players. I started off reflecting cultural perceptions with simple, basic designs. As I learned more, I experimented with more expressive looks that used vivid colors and textures to portray the complexity of athletes' feelings. I tried a variety of approaches in an attempt to convey the breadth of their challenges and the importance of empathy and support.
